Established among the trees of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, Vakantiepark de Heigraaf offers a diverse range of chalets, mobile homes, camping pitches, and lodges, focusing on relaxation, nature, and carefree enjoyment – including uninterrupted internet and television viewing. Since 2016, De Heigraaf has relied on the expertise of Hertzinger. Lambert van de Lagemaat heads the Technical Department of De Heigraaf and shares his experiences on behalf of the holiday park.

Connecting with the entire family

From mountain biking through the forests to climbing the Pyramid of Austerlitz or lounging by the Henschotermeer lake, guests – mostly families – at De Heigraaf lack nothing. Even during their stay at the holiday park, every comfort is provided. For almost sixty years, this family-owned business has been meeting guests’ needs. Internet and television have become increasingly important. “In 2024, families require stable internet, in-room television, and the ability to stream their favorite shows in the evenings. Connectivity has become a basic necessity,” Lambert explains. This is where Hertzinger plays a crucial role.

Growing demand for luxury and comfort

The collaboration between Vakantiepark De Heigraaf and system integrator Hertzinger began in 2016. This followed Lambert’s visit to a leisure fair where he encountered Hertzinger’s booth. By 2016, De Heigraaf had a coaxial network for television, but stable internet was lacking. Hertzinger provided the solution with its innovative coaxial data system, seamlessly integrating with the existing network. “No hassle with laying new cables,” Lambert points out. “We could start immediately.”

An added benefit is the system’s ease of expansion to other parts of the holiday park. Lambert adds, “This gives us flexibility to grow along with our guests’ needs.” De Heigraaf initially implemented the system for mobile homes and chalets, but due to increasing demand for luxury and comfort, the holiday park expanded the network. Currently, over 800 camping pitches and accommodations feature the latest internet and television connections.

Great collaboration partner

According to Lambert, Hertzinger distinguishes itself through excellent service and close involvement. “In case of any issues, the local provider is quickly on-site. They always offer personal and direct support, crucial in our industry where quick responses are essential,” Lambert explains. “They also anticipate our needs.” This is evident in the latest technological developments offered by Hertzinger.

Keeping pace with technological developments

This year, De Heigraaf transitioned to the new Docsis system, which works excellently for larger networks. Docsis ensures even better internet quality through existing coaxial data connections. How does it work exactly? Lambert explains, “Upon check-in, we provide each group with a modem (including cables). This modem creates a private network, ensuring a personal, stable internet connection, just like at home. Connecting and logging in is very simple. Guests love it.”

Optimal enjoyment

In addition to providing television and internet for guests, Hertzinger manages the entire network on the park, including the halls and reception. The collaboration with Hertzinger has become an essential part of De Heigraaf’s success. “The stable products and excellent service enable us to provide guests with the connectivity they need, allowing us to focus on delivering an unforgettable holiday experience,” Lambert concludes.
